New rugged DC-AC pure sine wave inverters handle high fluctuation on 250Vdc board voltage
ABSOPULSE has recently released the CSH 2K-3U7 series of rugged, industrial quality pure sine wave DC-AC inverters for cranes and other severe environment applications that require high input overvoltage capability. The 2kVA inverters can be used to run air conditioners, heaters, lights and other peripheral equipment in crane operator cabins. They offer a 250Vdc nominal input voltage with a wide 230V to 600Vdc input operating range. The high input voltage capability ensures that the inverters operate reliably with up to 600Vdc surge voltages on the input line. The 2kVA inverters deliver clean sine-wave output of 115Vac continuous at 60Hz or 230Vac continuous at 50Hz.
ABSOPULSE’s CSH 2K-3U7 sine wave inverters offer a significant advantage over crane inverters with standard industrial input ranges which typically fail when 250Vdc board voltage is subjected to high input surges.
Microprocessor controlled high frequency PWM technology enables high efficiency, compact construction and low weight. The unit is constructed with internal modules, one FID2000 and three KHH2000 modules. The DC-DC input stage converts the input voltage to a DC bus voltage, which feeds two MSI1500 DC-AC modules to generate the required AC output.
Input and output are filtered for low noise. The input meets EN55022 Class A with wide margins; Class B is available on request. This ensures that the inverters can be used in EMI sensitive environments without additional filtering. The units are designed for compliance with C22.2 No. 107.1 – 01, UL 458 and EN/UL60950-1 standards. Electronic protection includes 3000Vdc input to output isolation, inrush current limiting, output overload and short circuit protection, as well as thermal shutdown with automatic recovery. Large design headroom and the exclusive use of components with established reliability contribute to a high MTBF.
Cooled by three high quality built-in fans, the units are rated for operation over a 0 oC to +50oC temperature range for full specification without de-rating. Wider operating temperature requirements can be accommodated on request. The fans can be equipped with filters to enable operation in dusty conditions. Most heat generating components are installed on aluminum heatsink blocks which are thermally connected to the base plate. This also ensures exceptional mechanical ruggedness. The inverters are conformal coated to ensure protection against humidity and airborne contaminants.
