The RWY 30-P30 is a recent addition to our RWY Series of high power density fully encapsulated DC-DC converters designed for low power rolling stock and harsh environment applications. The converters deliver any single regulated output voltage from 5Vdc to 110Vdc. They accept 24Vdc (14.4-34V), 36Vdc (22-51V), 48Vdc (29-67V), 72Vdc (43-101V), 96Vdc (58-135V) or 110Vdc (66-154V) inputs with wide EN50155 input ranges. Other input and output voltages are available on request. Conversion efficiency is up to 90%, depending on the input/output configuration.

The DC-DC converters are fully encapsulated with a thermally conductive MIL-grade silicon rubber compound with a UL94V-0 flammability rating and meet environmental criteria as requested in MIL-810C, D. Encapsulation ensures heat dissipation throughout the module as well as protection from high levels of shock and vibration. Encapsulation also ensures immunity to moisture, fog, oil, salt, dust and other contaminants. Conduction cooling via base plate to customer chassis or heat-sink enables operation over a -40°C to +70°C temperature range for full specification without derating. This 30W unit is housed in a compact, light-weight 56 x 56 x 147 mm chassis (H x W x L including terminal blocks).

The RWY 30-P30 meets the stringent requirements of EN50155 for electronic equipment used on railway rolling stock. The units have heavy filtering on the input and output and comply with EN50121-3-2. The converters also meet EN61000-4-2 (ESD), EN61000-4-3 (RF Immunity), EN61000-4-4 (Fast Transients), and EN61000-4-6 (Conducted Immunity). Other protection features include 3000Vdc input-output isolation, reverse polarity protection, overload protection, thermal protection and current limiting.
