ABSOPULSE Electronics′ new FCP 1K-F7W Series of AC-AC frequency converters use field proven microprocessor-controlled FCP1000 technology to generate 1000VA continuous output power with pure sine wave output voltage.

The AC-AC frequency converters offer a split-phase AC-output stage for various configuration requirements. The units can be configured to provide a 115Vac split phase/4.3Arms/60Hz each, which emulates North American AC-outlet utility voltage. Other available output options include a single phase 115V/8Arms/400Hz or 230Vac/4.3Arms/50Hz. A high AC-output voltage version that generates 400-450Vac single phase is also available. The frequency converters operate from a power factor corrected (PFC) universal input range of 95V to 264Vac, 47-63Hz;  400Hz frequency is available on request.

Cooling is by high quality built-in fans and by additional conduction via the baseplate. All heat generating components are installed on aluminium heatsink blocks which are thermally connected to the base plate. This contributes to the mechanical robustness of the units. To ensure immunity to the high levels of shock and vibration encountered in harsh environments, the internal boards are ruggedized. Conformal coating provides protection from moisture and airborne contaminants. The compact, low profile design in an F7W chassis measures 280 x 73 x 356 mm (11” x 2.9” x 14”) W x H x D.

All models in the series comply with EN61000-3-2 directive for low input harmonic distortion. They also meet the requirements of C22.2 No. 107.1-01, UL 458, EN/UL60950-1 and equivalent industrial safety standards. They have filtering on the input and output for low noise. The input meets EN55032 Class A with wide margins; Class B is available on request. Efficiency is typically 80% at full load. Electronic protection features include 3000Vdc input to output isolation, over-voltage and short circuit protection with thermal shutdown with automatic recovery in case of insufficient cooling.
