250W Step-up DC-DC converters with pure convection cooling for industrial applications

Low-to-high voltage “step-up” or “boost” DC-DC industrial converters scale low voltage 12Vdc batteries to a higher DC-output voltage

250W Rugged DC-DC Converters with Convection Cooling by Heatsink Assembly Fins

LTH-65-F3-HSA series low-to-high  heavy-duty industrial DC-DC converters deliver up to 250W with convection cooling

The LTH 65-F3-HSA series of heavy-duty, industrial quality step-up (boost) DC-DC converters operate from a 12Vdc (10.5-16V) input and deliver 24Vdc, 48Vdc or 125Vdc with their corresponding float voltages.  An optional built-in redundancy diode allows for paralleling and N+1 operation or back-up battery connection. An output fail alarm is also available on request.

The converters are designed to float charge hold-up batteries for electrical equipment installed in transportation and industrial applications.

The converters are convection cooled via a heatsink assembly block with fins  attached to the under-surface of the unit.  Additional cooling is achieved by natural convection through the cooling slots.  This mechanical structure allows for  applications where a heatsinking surface is not available.  The heatsink assembly also allows for mounting on uneven and thermally non-conductive surfaces, such as wood, plastic and brick walls.

The units are rated for operation over a 0°C to +50°C temperature range for full specification with no derating required; wider temperature ranges are available on request.

HSA-F3 heatsink assembly with fins enable convection cooling. This mechanical structure allows the unit to be mounted on uneven and thermally non-conductive surfaces. No fans or installation on a heat-sinking surface required. (Click on image for mechanical outline drawing)

The converters are designed for compliance with EN62368-1 and equivalent safety standards. Electronic protection includes 1000Vdc input-output isolation, inrush current limiting, reverse polarity, over voltage, over temperature and short circuit conditions. The input and output are filtered for low noise. The input meets EN55032 Class A with wide margins.
