The PFC 319-F4 universal input AC-DC power supplies deliver up to 500W continuous output power. They use active power factor correction to convert a universal input (95V to 264Vac) to 12Vdc, 24Vdc, 48Vdc or 125Vdc. Custom input/output voltages are readily available. An optional built-in redundancy diode allows for parallel and N+1 operation for the 24Vdc, 48Vdc or 125Vdc output versions.
Active Power Factor Correction (PFC)
The PFC 319-F4 power supplies employ active power factor correction, which limits input current harmonics to achieve a PFC rating of 0.97 at full load for the entire input range. The power supplies comply with EN61000-3-2 directive for low input harmonic distortion. Hold-up time is 10ms at full load for 5% drop of output voltage at nominal input.
Safety standards, EMI and electronic protection
The units also comply with EN62368-1 and equivalent UL and CSA international safety standards. Filtering on the input and output contributes to low output ripple and noise. The input meets EN55032 Class A with wide margins; Class B is available on request. Comprehensive electronic protection includes 4300Vdc input-output isolation, inrush current limiting, rectangular current limiting with short-circuit protection on the output, thermal self-resetting shutdown and output over-voltage protection by double regulator loop completely stable and independent of main loop.
Cooling
The 500W power supplies are cooled by conduction via baseplate. Additional cooling is achieved by natural convection through the cooling slots. All heat generating components are installed on aluminum heatsink blocks which are thermally connected to the base plate. This also provides exceptional mechanical ruggedness. The power supplies are rated for operation over a 0ºC to 50ºC temperature range for full specification (without derating). Wider temperature ranges are available as an option.
Rugged mechanical construction
The PFC 319-F4 units are ruggedly constructed and designed to withstand high levels of shock and vibration (IEC 61373 Cat 1 A&B); this ensures reliable operation in harsh environments. The internal board is conformal coated for immunity to moisture, humidity and airborne contaminants. The F4 chassis measures 130 x 62 x 351 mm.
