The CSI 1K F31-HSA series DC-AC inverters use field proven, microprocessor-controlled high frequency PWM technology to generate up to 1kVA output power with pure sine wave voltage. The inverters are based on mature design topology with a track record in numerous applications.
The 1kVA inverters operate from a 36Vdc, 48Vdc, 125Vdc or 250Vdc power source. A 24Vdc input is available with derating to 750VA. The DC-DC input stage boosts the input voltage to a higher DC voltage, which feeds the DC-AC inverter to generate 115Vac continuous at 60Hz/400Hz, or 230Vac continuous at 50Hz. Output neutral is connected to
the chassis internally. Isolated floating output available on request.
Efficiency at full load is typically 80%, depending on input voltage. An optional output-fail alarm (Form C) and remote shutdown are available on request.

F31-HSA heatsink assembly with fins enable natural air convection cooling. This mechanical structure allows the unit to be mounted on uneven and thermally non-conductive surfaces. No fans or installation on a heat-sinking surface required.
Mechanical construction and cooling
The inverters are convection cooled by a custom-built heatsink assembly with fins attached to the under-surface of the unit. This ensures operation over -25°C to +55oC temperature range for full specification without derating.
The heatsink assembly can be mounted to a chassis or on a 19 inch panel. The chassis-mounted version is ideal for applications in which a heatsinking surface is not available and convection cooling is essential. The heatsink assembly can also be mounted on thermally non-conductive surfaces such as wood, plastic and brick walls.
Applications
The units are suitable for industrial applications such as power utilities, mining, marine, industrial automation and transportation that require clean, reliable AC power.
EMI, safety standards and electronic protection
Filtering on the input and output contributes to low output ripple and noise. The input meets EN 55032 Class A with wide margins; Class B is available on request. The converters comply with EN 62368-1 and equivalent UL and CSA international safety standards. Comprehensive electronic protection includes 1000Vdc input to chassis/output isolation, inrush current limiting, current limiting with short-circuit protection on the output, thermal shutdown with automatic recovery in case of insufficient cooling.
