The PFC 1K5-U5512L universal input AC-DC power supplies deliver up to 1500W continuous output power. They use active power factor correction to convert a universal input (95V to 264Vac) to 12Vdc, 24Vdc, 28Vdc, 48Vdc, 54Vdc or 125Vdc. Custom input/output voltages are readily available. An optional built-in redundancy diode allows for parallel and N+1 operation for the 24Vdc, 28Vdc, 48Vdc, 54Vdc or 125Vdc output versions, not 12Vdc output.

Active Power Factor Correction (PFC)

The PFC 1K5-U5512L power supplies employ active power factor correction, which limits input current harmonics to achieve a PFC rating of 0.97 at full load for the entire input range. The power supplies comply with EN 61000-3-2 and EN 61000‐3‐12 directives for low input harmonic distortion. Hold-up time is 10ms at full load for 5% drop of output voltage at nominal input.

Safety standards, EMI, electronic protection, cooling

The units also comply with EN 62368-1 and equivalent UL and CSA international safety standards. Filtering on the input and output contributes to low output ripple and noise. The input meets EN 55032 Class A with wide margins; Class B is available on request. Comprehensive electronic protection includes 4300Vdc I/O isolation, inrush current limiting, rectangular current limiting with short-circuit protection on the output, thermal self-resetting shutdown and output over-voltage protection by double regulator loop completely stable and independent of main loop. 

Cooling is by a high quality built-in fan and by conduction via the baseplate. This provides sufficient cooling for operation over a 0°C to +50°C temperature range for full specification without derating. Wider temperature ranges are available on request.
