ABSOPULSE’s BCP 1K5-PEL series of heavy-duty PFC-input AC-DC battery chargers were designed for charging an external battery in industrial environments. Housed in a splash-proof Pelican case with a sturdy handle, the chargers are well suited to applications where ruggedness and easy portability are key requirements.
The BCP 1K5-PEL portable battery charger uses high-frequency conversion technology to deliver up to 1500W continuous output power.
The charger operates from any voltage in the 180Vac to 264Vac input range, with a 10Arms maximum input current. An optional universal input of 95-264Vac allows for operation from all typical voltages worldwide. The chargers employ active power factor correction, which limits input current harmonics to achieve a PFC rating of 0.97 at full load for the entire input range. The units comply with EN 61000-3-2 directive for low input harmonic distortion.
Any charging voltage between 20V and 400Vdc is possible. A built-in output separation diode prevents battery discharge back into the charger if the AC is disconnected.

The BCH 1K5-PEL is conformal coated, heavily ruggedized and it is housed in a water-proof Pelican case with a sturdy handle for portability and easy use in the field. The case measures 50.2 x 40 x 18.8 cm and the entire unit weighs approximately 12 kilograms.
Built-in fans provide sufficient airflow for operation at full specification over a 0°C to 50°C temperature range. Extended temperature ranges are available. Protection includes inrush current limiting, over-voltage protection, short circuit protection, a self-resetting thermostat for thermal protection. The output is protected against reverse battery connection by built-in crossbar diode and output breaker.
