ABSOPULSE Electronics is an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specializing in the design, development and manufacture of heavy-duty switch-mode power supply solutions for industrial applications.
Our product line includes heavy-duty DC-DC converters, AC-DC power supplies, rectifiers and battery chargers, DC-AC sine wave inverters, AC-AC phase and frequency converters, and complete power systems in 19″ and 23″ racks.

History, Custom Design Capabilities, Engineering Support
The company was founded in 1982 to meet a market requirement for custom designed, not-off-the-shelf power solutions. All ABSOPULSE products are designed and built in our 83,000sq foot custom-built production plant. The company has grown steadily over the years and it has undergone several phases of expansion. ABSOPULSE is privately owned.
We remain primarily a custom design house. Over the past 44 years, we have designed and built thousands of power conversion products that are constantly proven in the field. This allows us to develop products rapidly and cost-effectively, even for highly custom projects.
During the quotation process, our technical team will review your specifications and ensure that our solutions are optimized for your application.
Our engineers provide technical support throughout the project development phase. Our extensive R&D program supports our design capabilities.
Reliability, Low Product Life-cycle Costs
Reliability is engineered into every ABSOPULSE power supply. This ensures a long operating life with minimum maintenance under exacting field conditions and contributes to low product life-cycle costs.
Our stringent standards and processes encompass:
- High quality designs with large design headroom;
- Optimal thermal performance – all heat generating components are conduction cooled by heat-sink blocks connected to the base-plate;
- Full electronic protection including surge and transient protection;
- High efficiency;
- High quality components with reliability established over many years;
- Very high MTBF ratings supported by field data;
- Robust mechanical construction;
- Rigorous testing of every power supply throughout the production process – all units must pass ‘burn-in’ before shipment;
- ABSOPULSE’s quality procedures have been approved by international agencies and by our corporate customers;
- The company is BABT approved and is able to provide in-house CSA, UL and other approvals.
Mechanical Designs
Whatever the space constraints of your application, we will ensure that our ruggedly constructed power supplies meet your exact mechanical requirements.
Standard mechanical packages and ruggedizing options include:
- Chassis-mountable units in vented conduction/convection or fan-cooled enclosures;
- Pure convection cooling via heatsink assemblies with fins:
- DIN-rail and open-frame format available for many designs;
- Plug-in (Eurocard) format for modular power systems in 19 inch or 23 inch racks;
- Conformal coating and heavy ruggedizing;
- Full encapsulation (potting) in a thermally conductive MIL-grade silicon rubber compound with
- UL94V-0 flammability rating where immunity to very high levels of shock and vibration, humidity, moisture, dust, oil, fog, insects and other contaminants is required;
- Enclosure in rugged IP-rated packages – IP20 to IP66-rated;
- Custom connections.

Certification for World-wide Application
To ensure our customers can ship their end-products world-wide, in-house certification is available for CSA, UL and other approvals. ABSOPULSE’s quality procedures have been approved by international agencies and by our corporate customers. The company is a BABT approved facility.
